Gulf of Papua Prawn Fishery - Timed Area Closure
 

This is a notice to all Torres Strait and Western Province Tropical Rock Lobster licensed operators, fisherman and the general public that the seasonal ban on the use of hookah gear for taking of tropical rock lobster in the Torres Strait and Western Province fishery, commences on midnight 30th November 2005 and ends on midnight 31st March 2006.

The National Fisheries Authority is seeking expressions of interest for the purchase of Diplomat Jaya IV a 17.5metre wooden vessel, with 3 x Engines, 2 x Jadon 22HP and 1 x 24 horsepower Canpah Engine and other items. The boat is currently berthed at Madang Provincial Fisheries Wharf in Madang. The sale would be on an “as is where is” basis.

The National Fisheries Authority is seeking expressions of interest for the purchase of Sumber REJEKI a 16.4metre wooden vessel, with 2 x Engines, 1 x Yanmar 22HP and 1 x 22 horsepower Kubota Engine and other items. The boat is currently berthed at Madang Provincial Fisheries Wharf in Madang. The sale would be on an “as is where is” basis.
