Vessels

The Leilani is a 17m Stebercraft vessel built in Australia and launched in December 1994. It has a 491 hp. Caterpiller engine, 5,400 litre fuel capacity, approximately 2 tonne fish hold, live fish holding tank, ice machine and life raft capacity for 16 people. It can be used for surface and bottom longlining and as well as bottom line or drop line fishing.

The Kavulik is a PNG made 23 ft vessel with an inboard Yanmar 4.5 hp. engine. It has a ½ tonne fish hold and is mainly used for various handline and bottom line fishing methods. The college purchased the vessel in 2003 after it had been used by the constructor as a demonstration model. Aside from its work as a fishing platform it is also very useful for teaching correct berthing techniques for inboard vessels.

The College also has 5 open deck fibreglass banana boats, (three 23 ft boats and two 19 ft boats), and a mixture of Yamaha outboard engines (two 25 hp, two 40 hp and one 55 hp).
