19 Dec 06 - Gulf Of Papua Prawn Fishery– Timed Area Closure

This notice serves to advise all prawn operators and the general public that the Seasonal Timed Area Closure in the Gulf of Papua Prawn Fishery, which commences at midnight 30th November 2006 to midnight 31st March 2007 (as advertised on the 24th November 2006) will remain the same, except the co-ordinate of 144° degree 10 minutes 00 second east (144°10’ 00’’E) for the area closure was incorrect and therefore will now be changed to 145 degrees 10 minutes 00 second (145°10’ 00’’ E). This means the timed area closure will run from Aivei in the west to Iokea village in the east.

The co-ordinates of the advertised area closure is now 145 degrees 10 minutes 00 seconds east (145° 10’ 00’’ E) and 8 degrees 24 minutes 42 seconds south (08° 24’42’’S).
